Practice what you preach….. common phrase most have heard often. Unfortunately many do not practice what they preach but many people still continue to follow the preaching of people but yet don’t investigate their “practice”.
Here’s some examples :
A financial planner can tell you all the right things on how to invest, where to invest, why to invest….. but if they personally have financial difficulties, this is not the financial advisor you want to hire.
A dentist can tell you all the right reasons on how to take care of your teeth, why to take care of your teeth, what procedures you need done to your teeth…..but if their own teeth is less than superb, this is not the dentist you want to hire.
A fitness consultant can tell you the type of workouts you need, the types of exercises to do…. but if they themselves are not physically fit, this is not the fitness consultant you want to hire.
An MLM Distributor (affliate, consultant, partner) can tell you all the right reasons why to join their company and why their products are superb…..but if they don’t take their own products, they are not building a business, they are not selling products or enrolling other distributors, if they are not reading any books or working on themselves, or they don’t have a clear vision on where they are going and why….. RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!!!!
Many people follow the wrong people and some of these people are long term friends and family members…. Hey, if these people practice what they preach and they are someone you can learn from and they have the success you are looking for to create, then by all means, join them. Unfortunately, people are joining people that have a lottery mentality hoping they will help them become entrepreneurs.
I can’t tell you how many people have joined 3-4 different companies in 2 years and the sad part about it is, they are following the same people that left the first one to join the second one, who left it for the 3rd one and then jumped to the 4th one… And following the same pattern.
Same for the people who are promoting multiple products. You’ve all seen profiles of Facebook of people 3-4-5 and more products : 99% of these are still looking to find their purpose in life so why would you follow someone like that 🙂
IF YOU WANT TO BUILD A LONG TERM BUSINESS THAT GROWS, THESE ARE NOT THE TYPES OF PEOPLE YOU WANT TO PARTNER UP WITH.
Some people cannot separate business and friendship… if I want to build a business and change the quality of my life, I must join and align with those who have achieved what I am looking to achieve not join those who say they want to achieve what I am looking to achieve. If it’s your case : You must stop following those that call you up and tell you to join them on a new venture..
The same people that got you to join on the last venture and the one before that.. Do you really think they have your interest at heart? NO THEY DO NOT… Don’t believe me? Look at the results…… Too many people are taking advice from those that preach but yet don’t practice the preach.
I call this the Marketing Luring vomit. Nothing wrong with marketing skills if indeed they are followed by whatever is being marketed. Too many people are sweeping the “clues” under the rug. There is a reason why you questions certain things, why you don’t feel right or you are confused….. THESE ARE CLUES.
Take the time to reflect…
- Are you truly aligned with the right leadership, the right partners ?
- Are you inspired by those you work with that help you ?
- Does the people helping you, have they experienced any level of success ?
- Do they say one thing but you know they do the opposite ?
- Do they lift you up and inspire you to become bigger, better and more ?
- Do they focus more on self recognition ?
If you cannot answer 100% with no hesitation, then congratulations….. you are those that are growing and and will change many people’s lives including yours. Otherwise, you are wasting your talent, your self esteem, your possibilities and your full potential. Loyalty is a great thing.. But too many people are cheated out of greatness due to staying the course just to stay the course because people are taught not to quit..
When people leave companies to join another, it should be because they question the integrity, morals of the decisions made. When what the company says is not in congruent with what they do, that is a clue “they are not practicing what they are preaching”.
Just something I wanted to put out to help those who are in a reflecting mode. Too many self proclaimed gurus and leaders that are preying on many and I hope this helps just 1 person to WAKE UP!
